Assistant Professor, Business Communication

Dr Apurva is an Assistant Professor in the area of Business Communication at IIM Jammu. He received his doctoral degree in Linguistics from IIT Delhi, Dept of Humanities and Social Sciences. He also holds degrees in M.A. Linguistics and B.A. (Hons.) Arabic from the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. His doctoral work titled "The Role of Prediction and Working Memory Constraints in Hindi Sentence Comprehension" studies sentence processing in Hindi through experimental psycholinguistics.He has a sustained interest in experimental psycholinguistics that focuses on the interaction of working memory resources and expectations in Hindi sentence processing. His research rigour is driven by his curiosity about understanding how the human mind works while processing language.

He has hands-on experience in research methods that involve sentence completion, Self-Paced Reading (SPR), and eye-tracking experiments. He also harbours a deep interest in research related to bilingualism and language acquisition. Additionally, Dr Apurva is also interested in investigating the Languages of Work, especially in business communication.

Aside from academics, He enjoys cooking, is an ardent traveller, and is an avid sports enthusiast with a keen interest in badminton— all activities that keep him refreshed and productive.
